Texas Regulatory Information
The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) regulates retail electric providers (REPs) under PUCT Substantive Rules, Chapter 25. All REPs must be certified by the PUCT. Texas operates on the ERCOT grid, independent from the rest of the US.

3-Day Rescission (§25.474): You have 3 federal business days to cancel a switch after receiving your Terms of Service, with no penalty. -
Electricity Facts Label (§25.475): REPs must provide an EFL showing price at 500, 1000, and 2000 kWh usage levels before enrollment. -
Contract Expiration Notice (§25.475): REPs must send 3 written notices during the last third of your contract before it expires. -
Disconnection Protection (§25.483): You must receive written notice at least 10 days before disconnection, and disconnection is prohibited on holidays and weekends.
Ohio Regulatory Information
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) regulates electric choice in Ohio. PUCO ensures fair competition and protects consumer rights. All competitive retail electric service (CRES) providers must be certified by PUCO.
