What's the Apples to Apples chart?

It's the official rate comparison tool run by PUCO - Ohio's electricity regulator. Every supplier who wants to sell electricity in Ohio has to register with PUCO, and their rates show up on the Apples to Apples chart.

The chart is thorough. You can filter by green energy, contract length, and see all the fine print. The downside? You're downloading PDFs, scrolling through 50+ options, and doing math to figure out what you'd save.

We're not replacing it - some people prefer the official source, and that's fine. We just made it faster to get to the numbers.

Common questions

Is this the official PUCO site?

No. The official Apples to Apples chart is at energychoice.ohio.gov. We're a separate service that pulls rate data from the same PUCO-certified suppliers.

Are the rates the same?

Yes - we get data from the same licensed suppliers. The rates you see here are what you'd pay. We don't add fees or mark up the rates.

Why would I use this instead?

Speed, mostly. The PUCO chart requires downloading PDFs and doing your own calculations. We do that work automatically. Some people still prefer the official source for the complete regulatory documentation.

Is there a catch?

No. It's free. If you enroll through us, we get a small referral fee from the supplier - same as any comparison site. Your rate stays the same either way.
